In Response to Chapter 7, Pamela Anderson is not attractive, but these people are:

1. Scarlett Johansson (obvious reasons, plus no plastic surgery necessary)
2. Kate Winslet (see note above)
3. Jenny Lewis (semi-rocker thing going on)
4. Jennifer Connelly (gorgeous, despite the vein that runs through the middle of her forehead during emotional scenes in her movies)
5. Tina Fey (while I realize she is a not an obvious choice, though smart and funny, if you saw her Annie Lebowitz photographs in the January 2009 issue of Vanity Fair, you'd know why.)

Also, Pamela Anderson is not the reason women hate their bodies, though someone like Nicole Kidman is (tall, slender, elegant). I think Chuck's perception of how women feel about Pamela Anderson (or feel about themselves because of Pam) is completely devoid of any reality.

    Last paragraph - totally agree. I really don't think women give a second thought to Ms Anderson - she's not the reason women perceive themselves the way we do. It is much more complicated. To blame our self-image on a boob (excuse the pun), is just ridiculous. I think Klosterman is devoid of reality because he's spent too much time in the media-infested world he inhabits. Can you tell I had a tough time with this book! LOL

    See, I don't think Nicole makes me hate my body as much as... well, anyone who is vaguely my body type just a thousand times more "perfect". Nicole Kidman is one of my most favorite beautiful people, though. I mean, wow.

    I think my attractive list would look more like: Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones... and... I used to know more, I guess I should watch more TV/movies because I cannot actually conjure more faces...

    And as for Pamela Anderson... enough silicone, money, and time and we could all look like that... thank God we don't! I like to see my toes when I look down, thank you very much. I don't need excessive boobage getting in the way.

    Pamela Anderson is really hot...if your into syphilis and things of that nature. Sadly, it seems a large portion of trailer trash America is.
